Hi! I’m Emma Heyderman. I began my career as an ELT Professional in 1989 by doing the CELTA course in London. From there I got a job with Lacunza, a large International House school with its central offices in San Sebastian, Spain. The great thing about working for such a large school was that I was soon able to gain experience in teaching a range of ages, levels and focus (general, exams and business).

After completing the DELTA, I applied for a post of responsibility within the school. Over the years, I have progressed from Senior Teacher to Director of Studies to Director of Education. In all these roles, I was very much involved in course design and the supporting systems – materials, teachers guides and assessment. I also became interested in teacher training and have since run workshops, sessions and events on a local, national and international level; face-to-face, online and hybrid (a mixture of face-to-face and online).

My ELT writing career began after reviewing a coursebook for a publisher. Since then, I have authored students books, workbooks and teacher books for several series including Interface, Complete Preliminary, Compact Key and Your Influence .
